We are excited to inform you that this year’s IDESSAI will be hosted in Saarbücken, Germany! The summer school will take place at the University in Saarbrücken, nearby the organisator’s building DFKI (Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz).
In this way, we want to remain true to our slogan ‘Great things are always created in small things’ and welcome you, international guests, with us.

The institutes are located on the campus of Saarland University, which is about 5 km northeast of the center of Saarbrücken. Both buildings can be reached from one another within very little time as they are located directly next to each other.

Getting there

By Bus

A bus from the main train station or the city center takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Exit the bus at the Universität Mensa stop. See the exact location of the bus stops on the campus map below.

• From the main train station (stop: Saarbrücken Hauptbahnhof) take bus 102, 112, or 124. The bus stop is directly across the train station, next to McDonalds.
• From the city centre (stop: Altes Rathaus) take bus 101, 102, 109, 111, or 150.

Most bus lines depart every 30 minutes.

By Taxi

A taxi ride from the main train station or the city center takes about 10 to 15 minutes (EUR 8). Tell the driver you want to go to “Campus E 1 4/5”.

By Plane

If you arrive by plane, the nearest airport is either Frankfurt or Luxembourg. Both are distanced within 2 hours of ride. For further specific questions on that, you can contact idessai-support@dfki.de.
